Mark Vroom becomes NedFox’s new CEO, Jos Fidder becomes the new CTO
Starting January 1st 2024, Mark Vroom has taken over the tasks of Ernst van der Linde as general director of NedFox. Mark has been technical director at NedFox since 2001. Ernst will still be active within NedFox, but now with the function of financial director. In addition, we welcome Jos Fidder as the new technical director stepping into the role formerly filled by (CTO). He has been connected to NedFox for many years as a software developer and has recently been added to our board. We thought it would be nice for Mark and Jos to tell you a little about themselves and their roles in their own words.
Mark: I grew up surrounded by plants at my parents’ GroenRijk garden centre in Groningen. I loved helping out by pulling weeds and putting price labels on things. Eventually, I moved on to office work, where I introduced PCs as cash registers, making us one of the first in the Netherlands to do so. This allowed us to provide customers with detailed receipts of their purchases.
Following my time at the garden centre, I ventured into starting my own business and founded Asis 2000, a school information system now known as ‘Magister’. Around 2001, I collaborated with NedFox on developing the RetailVista ERP software. I believe that software is a fantastic tool that can make daily tasks more enjoyable and easier for people.
The most gratifying feeling for me is knowing that our software is indispensable to satisfied users who can’t imagine a day without it. You could say that I am passionate about what I do and would happily be woken up in the middle of the night for it. – Mark Vroom – CEO NedFox
Jos: Hi! For those of you who don’t know me yet, I’m pleased to get acquainted! My name is Jos, and I’ve been with NedFox for over 10 years now. In this time, I’ve taken on various roles, including development, design, and implementation. Starting this year, I have been honoured with the opportunity to step into the role of Technical Director, succeeding Mark.
When I’m not busy improving our services, I enjoy riding a mountain bike, climbing, or simply being outdoors as much as possible. These activities challenge me and enhance my creativity and problem-solving skills, which I bring into my professional role.
I look forward to working closely with the rest of the NedFox board and staff to enhance your day-to-day operations and elevate your RetailVista experience to new heights. I hope we’ll have the opportunity to meet during the implementation of our software or on another occasion.
Should you have any suggestions or questions, or if you’d just like to introduce yourself, please don’t hesitate to reach out! – Jos Fidder – CTO NedFox
