In April 2025, both Marks & Spencer (M&S) and the Co-operative Group (Co-op) in the UK were hit by major cyberattacks. M&S was targeted via its IT contractor, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), resulting in the theft of customer data and a projected loss of £300 million due to online sales disruption. Co-op also suffered a breach linked to the DragonForce ransomware group, leading to the theft of personal data but no financial details. In both cases, the attacks exploited third-party access, prompting shutdowns of key systems and operational disruptions.
RetailVista has been the first fully cloud-based retail system in the Netherlands and the UK since 2005.
Security has always been a top priority not only within our software but also in our hosting. Over the years, we have gained extensive experience to ensure 24/7 availability. In light of recent cyberattacks like those described above, we continuously and critically review our hosting environment and take additional measures when necessary.
Recently, we have further enhanced our security with SOCaaS — Security Operations Center as a Service. This means that an external party provides additional monitoring of our infrastructure. This security is proactive: we are alerted to any identified issues and take appropriate action in response. Throughout 2025, we will implement further measures to maintain our excellent uptime so far.
